What to expect from a one-off consultation:
A one-off consultation is best suited to help you work through a simple and specific problem you’re facing. For example, feeling triggered by your child’s current behaviour and not knowing how to improve your relationship and co-operation.
There are 3 parts to the session; an assessment questionnaire, the consultation itself which lasts between 60 and 90 minutes and a written report summarising the session and an individualised action plan outline the steps you can take to reach your goals.
What's the difference between a one-off consultation and ongoing therapy sessions?
Ongoing therapy sessions are best suited to help you work through more complicated or longer-term problems. For example, if you have experienced anxiety or low self-esteem for a long period of time which affects many areas of your life. Over a longer period of time, I will help you to learn everything you need to achieve your goals and support you along your journey as you make the changes you need.
A one-off consultation is better suited to situations that have become problematic more recently, which you’d like to develop a new perspective on or need support to problem-solve. For example, finding it hard to stay patient with your child as they move into the teenage years. We will have the opportunity to explore in detail what maintains your difficulties and how you would like things to be as well as talk through the steps you need to take to improve the situation. You will receive a written and detailed report following the session to work through independently.
